Dear Tobin, first, I cannot hide my astonishment that you are using my drawing! I would have never imagined anybody would like it so much, I nearly forgot about it myself.
Second, there are two main things which I think should be changed (I hope my English would be good enough to explain ... with a pen it would be much easier :)
- the line on the right should come down a bit more, otherwise the channel becomes far too large and the location in Venice disappears - the channels in Venice are not wider than a narrow road;
- and even more important - there are no paddles in Venice boats! if you want your picture to represent Venice you must get read of them!!! You have to have a man standing on the boat with that long - whatever the name of that thing is :)
Regarding your two modern additions, I think it's very imaginative and ingenious :)
