Nifty: The aurora I saw yesterday was featured with the astronomy picture of the day from [livejournal.com profile] apod. (Although it wasn't quite that intense from New York as the APOD picture.) Go someplace dark with a view to the north and you might see it too!

Also, it's snowing... so much geophysical/meteorological excitement!

ohh I want to see the aurora so bad... I've been obsessed with it since I read a book about it when I was like 7 and I've never seen it cause I've been up north but only in summer. Too bad I live in California...

A couple years ago, the aurora borealis were (was?) visible from Davis of all places. Not spectacular by any means, but whoa, visible at all was cool. (yes, getting to dark place required)

It was even featured in the local paper, too... the OC Register...

I was really hoping to have something more substantive to say, but what with lack of sleep, "Yay!" is all that comes to mind.
