Landing at LA79 Sycamore (grass strip)

Yesterday I got checked out in the Piper Warrior PA-28-151 N5356F. For fun we went up to Sycamore (LA79) to practice a grass strip landing—here's a video!

question - rather, hypothetical question - if the zombie apocalypse was just getting started and epicentered around La, and you had a full tank of gas in the piper warrior... what range would you have in flying away? Could you make it to the west coast?

The pilot's handbook lists the cruising range ("55% power, optimum altitude, leaned to best economy, no reserves") as 785 miles. (It is 1620 miles from here to Orange County airport.) The plane holds 48 gallons of gas, and is certified to use auto gas.

The little Cessna 152 holds 24.5 gallons of fuel and has a maximum range of 477 miles, which it will cover in 5.2 hours. You can download a copy of the Cessna 152 pilot's manual here: http://www.askacfi.com/762/cessna-152-poh.htm
