One. I've just decided to give my final presentation from last summer's research as my final presentation in E190 tomorrow morning. Make things a lot easier for me... I wonder how they'll react to an obviously recycled presentation. Heh. Shouldn't matter to them -- the only point of the assignment is to give a presentation, and this one is actually about something I know and care (mostly because it was my project for three months) about.

Two. I have given myself a several day extension on the final paper. It actually feels semi-legitimate this time: I was incapacitated for about a week with general wooziness.

So, there. With problems reduced to the trivial case (i.e. one part already done, and the other part put off to the future), I can sleep easy.

Xylar and I wrote a skit about Goldiloks kaj la Tri Ursoj -- two versions of the classic Goldilocks story but in Esperanto, to be performed tomorrow afternoon. In the first version I get to be, collectively, Goldilocks and the three bears, and Xylar will be the narrator (renkontisto); and then we'll switch for the second version. Should be a hoot.

We'll get our English midterms back tomorrow too.. I'm expecting a B of some form.

I have to finish all of the CS 70 grading for Monday, which is the last meeting of discussion sections. It will be nice to have that out of the way.

I get paid tomorrow.

The nasturtiums that I planted on the roof have flowered! so exciting! But I think it's a harsh environment for them up there.. too hot and sunny.

I would like to have some really great end-of-semester event, but I am beginning to doubt that there will be such a grand finale.

Hmm.

Oh yes, I'm feeling well again! not totally, but at least energetic again. that's good! It feels like it's been a long time, even if it's only been a week. A week's a long time to be cooped up in the house feeling icky.

I'm preparing mentally for my departure to Europe. Thinking of how I'll pack. I'm going to see if I can get everything into 20kg this time. Mobility is key.. don't want to get stuck with an excess baggage fee again (you see, flights to/from the USA have a 70kg baggage allowance whereas on flights not involving the US, you get only a 20kg allowange.. important to know!) I was also thinking that, with my laptop, I might be able to do CERN work while riding the train, etc.

Okay. Hopefully everything will go OK today. These presentations annoy me greatly.

for greece, you will only need a sleeping mat, a pair of flipflops, a t-shirt, a pair of shorts, toothbrush and sunscreen. :)

When I grew nasturtiums where I used to live, I had them under some trees, and they seemed to like the moist shade. I've seen them in the bright sun, though, in warmer, more humid climates. So maybe it's just the damp they like.

They taste good too, especially sauteed with asparagus or zucchini or tossed into a salad. Nice and peppery. :-)
