Very long day. Woke up at 7:30am, and, well, here we are.
My talk went pretty well. It turned out to be exactly an hour long, with maybe 20 minutes of discussion afterwards. My target audience was mainly the other students, summer students, and lab staff less familiar with what we are doing. Several people came up to me later with compliments, some saying it was the first LIGO talk they actually understood completely. So I count that as a success! Valera and Rana made some funny faces, though. Also: started the talk by having everyone sing Happy Birthday for Brian, one of the lab scientists. Slides.
Kate and Valera made pizza for dinner for everyone.
Looks like we've encountered our first major difficulties in our project that may require a change of (technical) plans. We'll see..
And now, the sleep.
