I am entertaining myself by alternately pouring acids and bases down the sink, in an attempt to unclog it.

It's surprisingly exciting!

Well, I don't know if it actually works, but I have done the same in our "science" lab, pouring first some baking soda, some water, then vinegar. It is entertaining.

A few weeks ago I was charged with emptying out the chemical shelf. As I poured each succeeding thing down the drain I really was chagrined at how NOTHINGlike my memory of all those chemicals was. I was certain that I was causing a fire or violent reaction somewhere down below. Perhaps there is some giant cess pool under the school where ALL that stuff gathers. A veritable cocktail of dubious origins.
