There was not nearly as much carnage as we had expected (hoped?) but it was still hilarious. Also, remarkably, I didn't see a single cop. I think they were all on duty patrolling the "have your picture taken with mr. and mrs. bunny" street fair a couple blocks away. But by the power of the internet the event's been magnified so much that it probably won't be held at Lombard Street again. Amazingly the damage to Lombard Street landscaping was only $300!
I didn't bother taking many pictures, 'cause I knew there'd be tons on flickr and youtube.
Afterwards Kenny, Bree, and I enjoyed pizza and beers, sitting outside along the street (watching errant bigwheels piloted by 25 yearolds roll down the street) at "ZA" Pizza just around the corner at Green and Hyde streets. Yet again

Date: 2007-04-12 02:04 am (UTC)It brings to mind a garden at the new Getty. It is bowl shaped with paths spiraling down and others spiraling up. The vision of the people strolling in a constant slow motion up and down those paths is almost hypnotic. I wonder if the achitect expected that the people would become part of the architecture there.
