I have decided that I should do something amazing every week.

Please define "amazing".

Amazing (adj.) - Involving the use of fire, or highly combustible materials.

"I had an amazing lunch today! The smoke detectors went off and everything!"

Merriam Webster?

Boy... You'd never guess that I was procrastinating over studying for my E&M midterm, now would you?

By the way... are YOU procrastinating too?

I'm not procrastinating. I'm in dilligently checking livejournal, something I actually have scheduled into my agenda.

My first miracle will be to pass the exam in the morning.

I think you'll do fine. You have this uncanny ability to keep yourself from freaking out in an exam, even when you have little/no preparation! I distinctly remember this amazing behavior in a certain AP Chemistry class that had the valedictorian in tears.

Although I have no recollection of this incident, I thank you for your support. I assure you, it's all a result of a fine collection of defense mechanisms--a well tuned scheme that enables me to laugh at my impending doom!

My second performance will be to lock myself out of the house for 30 minutes in the sub-freezing morning air when all of my housemates are away. (done!)

My third performance will be to show up to the exam ten minutes late, and then only by accident. Apparently I didn't get the memo that the exam would start two hours earlier than the normal class time.

How did the exam go?

Well, it went. I answered most of the first question (sans the part about the greens function) perfectly (I think), and only answered the second question in the sketchiest of ways. But overall, actually, it made me feel better about my grasp of the general structure of the subject. I posted (http://www.livejournal.com/users/nibot_lab/49987.html) a copy of the exam on [livejournal.com profile] nibot_lab.

Now that is a good idea.

I think you're already on the right track, actually!

That's just a little too much, Kari.

Too much amazing, or too much work?

:-)

/too much frustrating though, too
//spent 1.5 hours last night trying to help a kid have an "aha" moment and figure something out for themselves rather than me giving them the answer
///I'm tired now

I tend to regard getting up before noon as pretty amazing.

Nonetheless, good luck.

Indeed! That is why this project is going to be tractable! (I think.)

maybe you already do one (or more) amazing thing(s) each week, and this endeavour will help you recognize them!
