This is going to be the week of fixing things.

Thanks to Andrew Hall for the new wheel. What a difference it makes to have a wheel that doesn't warp all over the place, rubbing the brakes at least once a rotatation! haha. With Ben's persistant tutoring and the continuous need, I'm slowly becoming familiar with bike repair. I dredged up an old bike repair manual from the basement (Our basement is positively a mine for cool stuff. The only thing I've wanted but not found down there has been a turn-table / recordplayer). Makes the daily commute a little easier.

My car is getting a Starter transplant as we speak, having waited to get a starter heat shield shipped in from who-knows-where. So I should have a car again for weekend roadtrips as of today.

Ordered a replacement system board for my laptop computer on Ebay, for a total of something like $36. That's about 90% off the retail price from Dell for a new systemboard.

I found a sewing machine in the basement and am trying to set it up, only I can't quite figure out where the thread is supposed to go--there are all these protrusions that look like they're supposed to guide the thread, but, oh! in what order, etc? Then maybe I can sew closed the holes in my pockets and so forth.

Figure out what model the sewing machine is and see if you can find the manual online. A number of older manuals are available online, and it will tell you how to thread the machine. If that fails, find a local sewing/quilting store (not a chain store), take it in and see if anyone can help you out.

Oddly enough it doesn't seem to have any model numbers written on it anywhere, except it says "SEARS" on the cover and "KENMORE" on the machine itself.
