Tomorrow there will be a pilgrimage up to the Berkeley botanical garden to see a rarely-blooming plant whose flowers resemble rotting flesh. !!! It doesn't get much better than this!

i wish i could be there. i'm really quite distraught that i can't, because apparently the smell only lasts days and the bloom itself only a few weeks.

I got to visit the one in UW's greenhouse a couple of years ago and they made the same point. Although 'got to' might not be the correct phrase.
