Dude, that was my favorite too (or Orange Chicken Collective). Sort of simultaneously evokes the deliciousness of Chinese food and the goofiness of a giant orange cartoon chicken mascot.... (too bad it would scare the vegetarians away)
There's nothing inherently scary about an orange chicken. I think vegetarians get ruffled if the chicken is dead. But, yes, agreed - definitely evoking the deliciousness of a wonderful chinese take-out meal, and the silly enterprise of living with other people, all in one mascot!
And does it not make sense to have a mascot for a co-op? And if you spell it 'coop' instead of co-op, doesn't that automatically imply chicken?
Okay, it's settled. 'Ant hill' just doesn't make sense (I'm still confused about the II designation). Continuing with the coop theme: a coop is where many chickens live together, harmoniously, and in cooperation towards their ultimate communal goals: eating scratch and laying eggs for people to use (and getting laid now and then, if there happens to be a rooster around [or not!!]).
If I didn't just finish that giant italian sub I'd run down to the chinese place and get a combo A with NOTHING BUT ORANGE CHICKEN! So yummy.
And the acronym, TOCC, has some real potential. The sister house could be something cute to match, like TICC!
There's hope, though: Ant Hill Cooperative (no "II") is the massive co-op conspiracy.. the house itself can have a different name ("Zork Manor" -- whatever).
oooh! okay that's much more exciting! The hope remains.
And let me just say that if you switch it around a bit to read "Casa de Pollo Anaranjado" you could keep a slightly southern californian flavor to it. Otherwise, I'll be content with the Orange Chicken Villa, or Manor works, too :)
Wow, the whole co-op thing is making me want to start school at ROC. Is that a good reason to base my decision on?

It sure is! Our vision of the co-op already has you drawn in, siting on the front porch strumming the banjo in the hot summer nights, cooler of homebrew at our feet, greeting passers by...

Oh, and bluegrass jam nights biweekly :)
Let's just hope that UO doesn't make a sexier offer (read: better looking women)
