Amtrak (http://www.amtrak.com/) has some ridiculous deal going on — 70% off of tickets on most of the east-of-the-mississippi trains. $30 from Rochester to New York Penn Station. $40 from Chicago to Washington DC. There is a train that goes down the East Coast -- Boston down into the South, through Virginia, the Carolinas, Georgia, Mississipii, Alabama, finally to New Orleans. That sounds pretty fun.

Yeah, they have some pretty good fares if you can go during the middle of the week. A ticket from Raleigh to Miami costs around $25-30 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but a Saturday ticket is around $120. If I want to go to Washington DC I can get a $20 ticket during the week on Amtrak, but for weekend trips it's cheaper to fly (even cheaper than Greyhound...)
