this morning Ryan and I went house-hunting. we parked in the southwedge and then walked all over. we found two awesome apartments, but no good houses yet. we're determined!
we did find the perfect place, though, triangulated between two bars, three cafes, and a branch of the public library. hot! we found several new cafes, including one place predicated on an obscure cola beverage known as "moxie". within fifteen minutes i was best buddies with the owner, an amazingly cool guy by the name of drew.
before we went out I put up this awesome rainbow flag on our house, that nasco gave us. as we left we looked back at our little street at all the boring houses except our house standing out spectacularly, with christmas lights and our rainbow flag. i believe ryan's words were, "sweet, dude," and something about how maybe our cool neighbors would come visit us now:

in the evening i hung out with my awesome friend dana from cornell and her sister and her sister's boyfriend. atomic eggplant was closed so we went to mex. afterwards we called up ryan and justin and went out on the town. it was spectacular. we went to our home-to-be, the southwedge neighborhood of rochester. lux, beale street, and some random pizzeria. at 01:30 we head downtown for some choice minutes dancing, at 'bar fly' on east avenue. by coincidence they were playing some dance music i heard in copenhagen in the summer of 2001. it was divine.
we got home at 02:30 to find the flag taken down and stuffed into the doorway to my room. @#$@#$@$ !!! )-:

Our response
Date: 2005-02-07 09:10 pm (UTC)First and foremost, you did not ask everyone who lives in your house whether or not they wanted the flag flown. Secondly, you did not care. As you said to Micah, "Ryan and I took a vote and it was 2-0." Are there not four names on the lease? Do not your actions reflect upon all of us? Maybe we misunderstand the meaning of the word "cooperation?" Thirdly, Micah did address you directly, several times, expressing the opinion we had to remove the flag. Still, you chose to force your decision upon us.
We only ask that you practice what you preach.
Sincerely, as whitewhale so eloquently put it, those "piece of shit east-coasters"
you live with,
Micah & Vijay

You chose not to do anything. When I came home, I was very angry at your selfish decision making, and what added insult to injury was the fact that you didn't care what I, or Vijay, thought.
