Did you know that some schools, like Berkeley (I believe) have Columbus day as a holiday? That one really shocked me. I suppose four years at Stanford, when school always started after both those holidays, made me never realize that they might actually be holidays. I assumed they were like President's day, or Arbor day, or something else that no one gets off.
