person to person
Jun. 26th, 2004 12:06 amToday I crashed the MEMOCODE conference at the Hilton near the airport. It was pretty fun. Afterwards I found myself at the San Diego airport -- I needed cash but refused to use the BoFA ATM because of the big fee that would incur.
Aha! I thought, remembering the various odd currencies I usually have on my person.
I found the currency exchange and offered 10 euros.. and in return they were going to offer me $11 minus a $5.50 commission, or something like that.
"Nevermind, it's not worth it," I said.
"I see your point," said the girl working there. "Are you just back from Europe?"
"No.. but I have some euros, and I need bus fare."
"Hmm. Wait right over there, and I'll buy them from you for $10"
And so it was done. I found this all very cute.
