i had to refresh my memory of how to solve linear systems of differential equations, which was somewhat nifty. if y'=Ay then you just take the eigenvectors {v1, v2, ...} and eigenvalues {lambda1, lambda2, ...} of A, and assemble solutions y(t)=c_1 exp(lambda_1 t) v_1 + c_2 exp(lambda_2 t) v_2, ... . so cute.
have to decide on a grad school! actually, i think i've already decided, but i will nonetheless post it as a poll if I get around to it before the deadline. (-:
