Last night I was all set to post a rant concerning the blatant misandry going on here, to the effect of that that's one thing I certainly won't miss when I move out of here (i.e. loud conversations to the effect of `(straight) or (male) implies (frat boy),' with every possible negative stereotype attached)... but then other parties brought me their (surplus) hot chocolate and chocolate fondue, and I felt better.
BERKELEY, CA -- at 20:28 on the night of the 9th, our offices received a communiqué from the nearby "International House" (designation: i-house) apprising us of a so-called "party" due to happen there. Our offices initially ignored these reports; however, when more urgent reports arrived at 22:41 (with a subject of "party party party" to emphasize the urgency of these events) our branch office at the Oscar Wilde House (designation: lgbtiq) was compelled to form an emergency strike team to investigate these allegations.

Reports differ on whether it was the "annual everyone-in-skirts" party, or someone's birthday party.. but Kenny and I went to check it out (based on [livejournal.com profile] emidala's urging) and ended up staying pretty late. First we explored the upper reaches of the i-house, trying to find the dome.. then we found the party and got into it legitimately.. and then we found a secret entrance so that we could come and go as we pleased. The highlights: (1) they played all this music that was popular in Europe 2000-2002, much to the delight of Kenny and me! (2) Met [livejournal.com profile] luxvesperis who seems very cool (3) Ran into a girl I originally met in Sweden, and another exchange student from Lund who I hadn't yet met.
