Jamie left tonight for Chile where she's doing a semester with EAP. It's been really nice for the last 10 days and we got to be pretty good friends. I miss her already. Now it's just Jason and me and it seems so quiet.

First day of school. I found a different E190 section that's great. The instructor noted that he "prefers an ironic, maybe even sarcastic, tone" and he entertains us with latin etymologies. I think we'll get along just fine. I gave up on the Vista class -- I think it may have worked out, but it would have just been too agonizing. I also went to an Insect Ecology class that was fabulous. Unfortunately the instructor for me Celtic Studies class was so uninspiring.. I'd say deinspiring. despiring? I think I'll have to find another class. OTOH, it seems Celtic Studies is where the 16,000 on-campus females are hiding. That class was like 5:1 female:male.

It's really depressing to not be a real student. I met another EECS student who somehow got a petition for an extra semester approved, last semester, so he could double-major in Asian Studies. There are so many classes I still want to take, and I only need one freakn' class to get an Applied Math degree, but they still won't let me. So frustrating! The new guy in the co-op is taking Latin and Chemistry.. Urrrg! <weep>

Rebekah got home from her Birthright Israel trip and confirmed that it's one long propagandization.

[livejournal.com profile] doclonghair sent me this and I found it somewhat amusing:
