Dec. 24th, 2001 12:00 amChristmas is celebrated a day earlier here, on Christmas Eve (julafton) rather than Christmas Day. I'd asked Tony what was to happen today and I was surprised at the astonishing promptness with which everything happened. Tony says it was just a coincidence, but Lillian yelled ``Mat!'' (``Food!'') out towards the Stugan at exactly one O'clock. After christmas dinner we ran upstairs for a Donald Duck christmas program that forms an essential component of the Christmas ritual; then at exactly half four, Tomten (`the elf'/ Santa Claus) comes to the door to deliver presents.
