Got up strangely early (9:21) and took the bus down to the last lecture for Swedish Social Policy. It was just a ``how did you like the class?'' type evaluation/feedback meeting. Nobody was particularly responsive. Hey, it was 10 in the morning -- it's not easy waking up that early! (-: At the end of the class Mats passed around a sheet with everyone's grades on it. Looks like almost everyone got about an A- with a small showing of B+'s and an A or two. But my grade was strangely missing! Ate a falafel for lunch. For some reason I just wore a T-shirt and the warm jacket from Jessica down to down... so I was freezing cold: no mossa (beenie), mittens, and lacking a layer. And I hadn't had any coffee! So I took the bus back up to Delphi and on the way Mats called me and told me that I got an A (VG+) in the class. Yay! Back at Delphi, made myself some tasty coffee, then bundled myself up and walked down to Kårhuset to attend the Nobel lecture. There I met Nareet (sp?) the Thai guy from the 4th floor. He's studying physics and is quite friendly and interesting actually. Enjoyed nice hot Glögg and pepperkaka. The Glögg really hits the spot on these cold days... We secured 2nd row seats, and Martin and Danny arrived too. Wolfgang Ketterle was a good speaker, obviously enthusiastic about his subject, and a kind of wirey, angular fellow. Distinct German accent. Afterwards went back to Delphi for some more coffee, and then walked down to Kalmar Nation to work.

Working at Kalmar was a lot 'calmer' (no pun intended!) than working at Krischansta. I don't know if it's because it's smaller (by more than a factor of 2) or because it didn't fill to capacity, but the atmosphere just seemed more relaxed. Working were: Anna, me, Peter's cousin, Alice, Michael, & some people whose names I can't remember right now. I think there were only about 8 of us, plus Peter who was managing; in any case it was a great group of people, all friends of Anna's (she did the recruiting). I was on a team with Anna and we ran half-hour shifts at the coat check, entrance, and bar. Working at the bar was pretty fun, especially because it was not very busy and there were some entertaining people to talk to.
