I am now booked for the overnight bus from Geneve to Bratislava, leaving this Sunday at 16:00 and arriving at Bratislava at 10 the next morning. (Oh how I loathe overnight busses...) Oddly all busses to Vienna go via Bratislava. I bought the ticket for 81 francs (a 10% youth discount off of the usual fare of CHF 90) at Gare Routiere, the easy-to-overlook bus station in central Geneve. As of tonight I am living at the St. Genis hostel.

i don't know why, but i think bratislava is the best little town ever. maybe it's all the free stuff friendly slovaks give me when i'm there.
and i really think you should go to the baltics.

Hm, I don't know anyone in the Curonian spit... I do hear it's less crowded than Palanga, which supposedly has people elbow-to-elbow on the beach, Cancun-style. Where else is possibly on your itinerary? How long do you have for the Baltic?

Do you think it will still be crowded, even in the middle of September? It feels like off-season already. It's raining and getting cold across europe (http://splorg.org/people/tobin/projects/cern/travel.html).

My itinerary? Really, it's pretty vague at this point. There are people I intend to see in Vilnius, Riga, and Tartu (in increasing liklihood of meeting) but we haven't communicated in a somewhat disturbingly long time. (Maybe those email-spewing worms got in the way.) And then Luleå and Lund and Copenhagen. I have about a month for all of this.
