I recently decided I might like to move into a shared apartment with roommates (WG), so I just started looking at ads and sending out emails.
Yesterday I ventured out to List (a neighborhood of Hannover that I seldom visit) to check out the first candidate flat. It's a great apartment with a total of five people (3 girls, 2 guys), all around my age, with a diverse range of occupations, from restaurant service to chemical engineering. The main selling point of the flat is a gigantic terrace/balcony on the roof of the adjoining building. The terrace is bigger than my current apartment! The dealbreaker for them, though, is that I'm not sure I'll be here for more than another year, and they're looking for someone more long-term. I'm not even sure that I'm serious about moving, but it felt productive to get out there and see what's available. And I think I might be able to get an invite to their future parties and ski trips out of the visit in any case.
