Jan. 11th, 2009 07:36 pmTomorrow is the first day of classes at LSU ("Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College"!). Hopefully this is my last First Day of School as a student (it's been long enough!), but I am looking forward to it. I was done with courses at Rochester, but LSU wants me to take a few more. I'm taking:
Hopefully we can change the time of the GR lecture—the 5pm time is incompatible with me going out to the LIGO observatory. Everything's off to a pretty slow start, though; Rau has already cancelled what would otherwise be the first meeting, and Jorge has cancelled the subsequent three meetings of his course. I guess that's fine: I have to prepare for my candidacy exam here at LSU.
Sorry they aren't more exciting courses! The QM just sounds tedious, but I think GR will be fun.
Physics 7242 | Quantum Mechanics II | A. Ravi P. Rau | MWF 10:40-11:30 |
Physics 7336 | General Relativity | Jorge Pullin | MWF 17:10-18:00 |
Physics 9000 | Doctoral research | Gaby González | all the time |
