Rochester

Today the city is apologising, saying, "just kidding, it was all a practical joke." The sky is blue, the sun's out, and it's a likeable city again, with pretty houses and folks coming out of them, smiling, to rake up the winter sticks from their lawns and wave at the walkers-by.

I walked through the Southwedge and by the pretty old mansions on South Avenue and the park. In the Southwedge some businesses have failed but there are many new ones too, a net positive. Boulder Coffee Co, where I currently sit, has significantly expanded, into the second half of its building, and I have a suspicion that there's an upstairs now too. Outside, they have a fireplace a la the Lux.

It feels a little strange to visit here, as if this is the parallel trip to my first one as a prospective student, four years and one month ago. Maybe because I am here again for just a weekend, and again I am sick.

I have made no progress in studying for my exam.

Staying with Kris at his house has been great, as has been sleeping in and not going to work.
