Volkswagen Lupo

The VW Lupo is a very small car made by Volkswagen. It is smaller even than the Polo, which is smaller than the Golf. Neither the Lupo nor the Polo is available in the United States. The Lupo 3L gets 78 miles per gallon using a turbodiesel engine. Why is it not available here? Possibly because Americans hate it. The car is also available in a sporty GTI edition, which this British reviewer loves; that car gets 53 mpg (gasoline?) on the highway. I want one!
