[co-op] classified ad!

We took out a classified ad for the co-op (clicky clicky on the thumbnail for a legible version). I think it's kind of hilarious: we advertise rent, utilities, FOOD, hot tub, garden, bike workstop, ..., for $438 per month. Immediately to the left, an ad for an apartment says "From $550 includes heat and hot water." Nonetheless we've only gotten about five calls from the ad.

halloween critical mass

This coming Friday the 28th is the much-loved, not-to-be-missed Halloween Critical Mass, when everyone rides their bikes in a huge group while wearing ridiculous costumes! Here's a pdf of a poster advertising the ride in Rochester (also on flickr, thumbnail at right). Spread it around!

After the ride some Indymedia folks are screening the documentary Hell House which (as one IMDB reviewer summarizes) "shows the members of Trinity Church in Cedar Hill, Texas (near Dallas) organizing and planning their annual Hell House. Unlike the usual a haunted house with ghosts and goblins, Hell House exposes the evils of real life (abortion, rape, AIDS, DWI, suicide, etc.) and offers visitors a chance for salvation." Bizarre!
