back in ROC
Aug. 16th, 2006 11:23 pmI got back to Rochester this evening and (housemate) Kevin picked me up at the airport. The house looks great—there is no more icky green carpet in the dining room, and the dining room furniture was rearranged in a pleasing way. When I got home Jon C and Kastan were playing a card game, and Kevin and I joined in. Always nice to get back to a house full of people. I'm looking forward to the fall term when things stabilize a bit; I think we'll have a good group. (It turns out that the Portuguese exchange student who was going to come live with us in September isn't coming after all, though, so we have a vacancy to fill.)
Tomorrow my plan is to drive up to the Adirondacks to stay with Bree for a few days. Her summer job at the camp finishes at the end of the month so this will probably be my last time visiting there this summer. I'm looking forward to some good hikes and swimming in the alpine lakes. And, of course, seeing my girl!
The Adirondack mountains may not be very tall, but they are very pleasant. My internet-friend
archimedes314 has posted some great photos of the Adirondacks (and elsewhere in the NY/VT/NH area). (Check out his photo of Indian Head.)
