My new house is working out pretty well. The co-op bureaucracy is sputtering and stumbling into existence--we just discovered the value of committees! I'm really looking forward to the time when we can meet every two weeks instead of three times a week, though. We're really lucky to have another experienced cooper (Ben) involved—he has lots of good ideas inspired by OSCA [site seems to be down at the moment], the co-op system in Oberlin, OH. The house we live in is really something special, at 150 years old, it's one of the oldest houses in the neighborhood, and probably played a role in the Underground Railroad. The basement is full of all kinds of crazy treasures. (What I thought was a Doorway to Hell turned out to be the entrance to a cistern converted to a wine cellar.)
I've been surprisingly busy and stressed so far this summer, with work, school, and the co-op: definitely looking forward to moving into a "mojitos on the porch" phase. First I have to detect some gravitational waves. (ha!) Also gearing up for the June 24 Critical Mass ride—I wanted to have a SpokePOV ready, but that's looking less and less likely. Moreover my bicycle is really falling apart and needs some serious TLC.
