I am in the Science and Engineering Library at UCSD right now. (You see, I practice nomadicity at work, too.) (Yes, it tickles me that there is a "Science and Engineering library").

Anyway, this library is sort of underground. But you can see up to the main library, which has got to be the first University library named after a telecommunications protocol ("SSH stacks").

The point of this post is that I swear they're holding some kind of Jurassic Park recreation up there, combined with a a toddler's birthday party. Only that would explain the festive balloons and the velociraptor-like screams.

nomadicity

It's true that "nomadicity" is not a word, at least according to the dictionaries around here. There's not even "nomadery". There's a rather useless adverb "nomadically". There is "nomadism," but I don't like it. So I'll claim "nomadicity." And the verb, "nomadize":

  Nomadize \Nom"ad*ize\, v. i. [imp. & p. p. Nomadized; p. pr. &
     vb. n. Nomadizing.]
To lead the life of a nomad; to wander with flocks and herds
for the sake of finding pasturage.

The Vogules nomadize chiefly about the Rivers Irtish,
Obi, Kama, and Volga. --W. Tooke.
