more gradschool blathering
Mar. 21st, 2004 01:28 pmIt seems Liz and Shannon (both from CERN last summer) both got into Berkeley for physics grad school.. which is amazing and exciting. Everybody will be visiting the week after spring break. That means that of the 20 American CERN summer students from 2003, at least four will be grad students at UC Berkeley (assuming Shannon and Liz accept).
The AST group accepted 5 people of 85 applicants, and they visited last week. Apparently three of them are pretty certain they'll accept, and 2 are less certain (their other choices being Harvard and Stanford respectively). I plan to camp out at Bechtel Engineering Center upon my return...
