Oscar Wilde House is in the news today. I find the contrasting pictures of our front doors a little amusing.

Also in the news, on an entirely different note, scientists at NIST created a fermionic condensate. How'd they do that? It sounds like they used tweezers and put the fermions together, one-by-one. (-:

math tea

I went to Math Dept 'tea' today, although very briefly. Nonetheless I ran into Nadia immediately, and I saw that Ribet and Poonen were there too. Altogether it's quite an exciting happening - all these math types gathering and munching on free fruit and coffee and donuts (and tea, I imagine) for an hour. I plan to make a regular habit of it.
