Ah, we are having a good time in Paris.. hopping café to café, restaurant to restaurant, reading Hemingway the whole time.. with the usual mini-adventures and good food. mm mm mm.. on our table we just had snails, the most delectable chicken, even a delicious pickled herring, steak, and some rum thing for desert, and mousse and apple pie and... Hemingway chose his restaurants well.

I'm here with nearly a dozen kids from the U.Mich program, but we've been wandering off in subgroups and having a nice time. I arrived last night on the TGV and made the silly decision to walk all the way to the Eiffel tower.. geeze, it looks close on the map! And then I missed the last metro, so I had to walk half that distance again to our hotel...

We're all at Jardins de St. Lazare Hotel on Rue de Amsterdam in Monmartre. The place costs less than our building 38 rooms, and Reid and I share this spacious, two-floored room (no. 605) with room to spare, with croissant coffee ham hot chocolate pan chocolat breakfast and all that.

gotta run.
