why bother with Europe?
Jun. 12th, 2003 12:34 amFlew into Boston Logan yesterday, on an early morning American flight out of Orange County. Enjoyed the thrilling pirates-of-the-caribbean underworld of the urban T (as they call the subway here), and the transitition into the countryside on the ride out to Newton Highlands. I'm staying with my friend Andrew (we met in Physics 137A while loitering by the LeConte homework boxes, hastily scribbling out answers to our problem sets) who just got back from two years in China, the first on EAP and the second independently. (He was shunned when he got back, for fear of SARS — but now medical tests have averted those fears.) Anyway. Needham, MA. Bright, sunny weather; broad-leafed deciduous trees, quaint New England homes.
Swimming today. Barbequed hamburgers. Visiting Andrew's high school friends, watching the Animatrix, now Buffy. Went out for Cantonese food. Good times. Today was like something from Clerks, hanging out with Andrew's old highschool buddies and transitive friends. Comic book stores, arcades, even the Newton mall.
