Or, in this case, incompetence. I called the UC Berkeley Extension office to inquire about the concurrent enrollment system only to be told that "they have this information at the front desk." But could I talk to the front desk people over the phone? No, I have to walk down to their office. Okay. But at the office they turned out to be just as incompetent. After I introduced myself with "I have a question about concurrent enrollement" I was treated with an idiot's guide to filling out the application "Write your name here, your address, ..." But when I asked my real question (how to get financial aid applied to Extension) I was greeted with a blank stare, and comments like "We're a private institution -- we don't offer financial aid," and "Why don't you apply for a loan at Citibank next door?" Blahh. As a side benefit, I lose my library privledges. )-:
