Hm. Renewed my IEEE membership ($14), just in case I get the student branch scholarship ($250) and they actually check to see whether my membership is up to date. I'm in Region 8 now. There's something kind of funny about that. I found out, also, that the Dorot Foundation offers travel grants ($1000) to students working at summer programs in Israel. I wrote to the responsible person on the Berkeley campus about this; deadline is the fifth of April.

Generally a useless day. I had intended to study for physics, but that didn't really happen.

Went over to Daniel Wallace's korridor (H:212) for his birthday party. A fairly quiet engagement, with cake and beer! (what a combination!) Just before ten I went over to Rose's korridor to see if she wanted to join us for a trip to Wermlands Nation. I got stuck there in Rose's room and never ended up going to Wermlands (woops). She had a friend over who just happened to be a very cute Finnish girl studying computer science and mathematics (!). Actually she was in the Algebra 2 class I took last year, and once we figured that out, I sort of remembered her from the one or two lectures I attended. Her name is Eija. The three of us played a game of Yatzee and then (after Eija left) I talked to Rose for awhile, discussing her various plans for staying in Sweden / going home / when she will see Henrik again.
