After eating my falafel I found myself wandering about town, visiting again the parts of town I hadn't visited in a while. I visited the bookstore down Stora Södergatan, then walked up through the corridor between the shoe store and the church-ruin museum. I stopped in at bookstore (Antikvariat ?) there and looked through their wares, inkl. some books about the Förenta Staterna and an anthology of American literature with very well written introductions to the various works.

I continued walking up by the railway station, where I thought about camping out in some cafe where I could read while keeping an eye on the railway, with an idea of getting to know the rail schedule a bit and scoping out some freight trains. It was an abstract kind of idea because I didn't really feel like sticking around. But then, just as I was walking by the tracks, as if on cue, a freight train came in, at not more than a walking speed, onto the first track there at the station, where it came to a stop. It was very short, maybe six cars, all nearly identical, all entirely enclosed, unmarked, and with rounded roofs. On the back of several cars there was a little platform, with railing and everything. It would have been a simple matter to climb on, even if the train hadn't stopped, and to be whisked away on a fabulous freight journey to... Malmö. Okay, perhaps not the most exciting destination...

Pretty soon after getting home, Rose showed up wanting to go out... and go out we did! it was actually pretty extravagant, but we both figured we deserved it after x weeks doing nothing.
