Report from Berkeley
Jul. 30th, 1997 08:40 pmToday we left Davis around 8:30am, the earliest I've gotten up in weeks! We drove to Berkeley in time for the 10:00am tour. Berkeley was cold! It definately called for more than the T-Shirt and shorts I was wearing. They told us that this was extremely abnormal and we continued on our tour. The campus isn't all that remarkable. It's nice, it's on a hill, and there are a lot of underground libraries. Steam drifted up from vents, leaking from the underground conduits for the pressurized steam heating system. In the spirit of Berkeley rebellion (I suppose), bicycles are prohibited on campus, yet the primary mode of student transportation on campus is - bicycles! Another note: Our tourguides at every other school walked backwards. The Berkeley tourguide walked forwards! What does this mean??
