Always, always, a classic gin and tonic.

A favorite bartender of mine shares my predicament of having been born 70 years late, and so he makes me the most wonderful, obscure gin cocktails that haven't seen their heyday since the 30s. "The Last Word" is my favorite drink of all, but who can make that for me when I ask?

last word

Mmm—sounds delicious!

The Corpse Reviver No. 2 is another obscure, delicious favorite. I guess it's supposed to be a hair of the dog sort of drink, like a bloody Mary.

I always order a gin and tonic because I don't really know anything else that exists.

I need this fancy bartender to show me the world of gin possibilities.

An Aviation (http://www.kaiserpenguin.com/recipe-comparison-the-aviation-cocktail/) is a nice cocktail that's not too obscure, such that any decent cocktail bartender ought to be able to make you one. (The drink, not the brand of gin.) That's a nice starter for fancypants Prohibition-era gin cocktails.

tzjin-anthony-ks for me as well.

Every bar I've been to in Seattle carries Hendricks. Sadly, I don't think any in LA do.

tzjin-anthony-ks, hendricks

http://www.hendricksgin.co.uk (http://www.hendricksgin.co.uk/us/about/index.asp) is the best damn gin out there and I've tried most of them. The secret: cucumber.
