We received back our papers in English 117 today. Trepidatiously I looked for the grade (first trying to decipher a heiroglyph which turned out to be the grader's initials, `KT' entwined in ligature) and to my bewilderment I found an "A" -- very confusing, as I thought it was a bad paper. And my last, which I thought was rather witty, had been marked as a C+. The English department works in mysterious ways.

At work today Ken showed me how to use the silicon graphics machine to view the molecular structure and density map of our protein in stereo, wearing shutter-glasses. That was pretty slick.

That is the way it always works, fret not. I turned in a paper I thought was horrible and got an A- on it and then turned in one that I felt was rather strong and got a C/C- on it. (This semester)
