That seems profoundly telling of Sweden, somehow. It strikes me as odd that one side is so lushly and perfectly tended grass, with the other side as completely barren...followed by lush grass and regulated trees.

That's haunting. I've only ever visited Sweden in the summer, but still it makes me shiver.
