the spam problem

The idea occurred to me last night that to solve the spam problem, we could give up on email and instead print letters on paper and have them delivered via the post--and that this would constitute progress.

I wonder if my handwriting would improve or decline even more....it's to the point that an entire sentence is down to a scribble.....I wonder if I could then get away with something like 17 scribbles and have that as legally binding to whatever I said it said

revolutionary!

I get, on average, about 1.5 credit card offers per day in the postal mail. I was so curious about how much content in our postal mail was even of use that I actually started weighing it. Over a couple of days, useful content was only about 30% on a mass/mass basis.

that is true. sadly, 30:70 is still a better signal:noise ratio than my email inbox.
