new friends

I think I've perfected my interests list on Friendster: "avoiding my homework, thinking about physics, biking around town, starting a housing co-op, reading books from the public library, eating yummy food, cooking with my roommates, watching david lynch films, snuggling, going to brunch on saturday mornings, tag sales, being a scientist, travelling the world"

Speaking of which, I need to find some more/new friends here in Rochester. Just to spice things up. Infiltrate other departments or something.

Tobin, holla at my friend Erich on Friendster! He lives in Rochester and even though I haven't seen him in like eight years I'm sure he's still good people. Hell, he comes from PA Dutch stock, for real. Do you like skateboarding at all?

very nice profile. Is your list ordered in any way?

[identity profile] nibot.livejournal.com 2005-04-01 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
it is kind of ordered, now that i look at it. except cooking would probably come before eating.

yeah, it seems like avoiding homework may not be first? especially if (perhaps) when you are thinking about physics (#2) you are party doing hwk?

[identity profile] nibot.livejournal.com 2005-04-01 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
Oh no. It's the avoidance of homework that enables everything else. For instance, right now I am avoiding homework to (in addition to replying here of course) write a long question about tensors to be posted to sci.math, sci.physics.

ahhhhh :) that makes sense. avoiding hwk is definitely the way to go!

Love the shirt

I was listening to "In My Life" while reading up on LJ.

ps -- Last night I was hanging out with my friend Jess ([livejournal.com profile] bloo_green) and she mentioned something about living at Wilde at some point. I didn't know she'd lived there and asked her if she knew a tall redhead named Tobin. She said she was familiar with you but that you probably didn't know her...hmm...

[identity profile] nibot.livejournal.com 2005-04-01 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
Jess... Standish ?

[identity profile] suomifrikki.livejournal.com 2005-04-01 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
we should hang out!

...

if you don't mind

[identity profile] nibot-lab.livejournal.com 2005-04-01 04:51 am (UTC)(link)
yes, we should!

Want to go to Philadelphia tomorrow morning?

[identity profile] suomifrikki.livejournal.com 2005-04-02 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
what time?

Bio grads are always looking for new friends. Especially if they aren't weirdos.

[identity profile] nibot.livejournal.com 2005-04-01 08:05 am (UTC)(link)
We should hang out then -- maybe have some kind of Physics-Bio get together. (-:

Hi! I was looking at RochesterWiki, noticed you guys were modeling somewhat after DavisWiki. I guess being in the Davis internet community (I "moderate" [livejournal.com profile] ucdavis) connects me to your brother? Anyway, the Wiki's looking good... I was looking at it because I'm visiting Rochester in early May, might be moving there to work at the university. If you want to talk hit me up on AIM sometime @ gonainie.

[identity profile] nibot.livejournal.com 2005-04-17 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, great to "meet" you! What might you be doing at the University? Anyway, yes, awesome that you found the Wiki. (I'm a friend of [livejournal.com profile] codetoad.. I started BerkeleyWiki (http://csua.berkeley.edu/~tobin/wiki/moin.cgi/) shortly before I left Berkeley... Philip then totally upstaged us with his incredibly awesome DavisWiki, and now he's helping us to use his code to make ROC Wiki.) You might also be interested to know that we are starting a co-op (http://rochester-coop.org/) and looking for members.. if you are interested in an awesome communal place to live. Do you know when you'll be here? I'll be gone for most of May, but if I'm here I'd love to meet you / show you around.

p.s. if you're going to friend me, this is the journal to friend. not [livejournal.com profile] nina.
