I received the highest grade in the class in Physics 402. boo-yeah! That also means I just earned my first two units towards my M.S. here.

Amazing! What a shift from last semester, huh? I knew you had it in you.

Congratulitifications. Was that statistical mechanics or something new?

thanks. (-: sadly, no, it was not statmech, but a silly "probability" course that in half a semester covered four lectures of CS 70.

Ah, I see. Well, good luck with the statmech.

I think the word "statmech" should be pronounced with a German accent.

congratulations!

but - M.S?! what happened with the PhD thing?

M.S., PhD

just first things first. (the M.S. requirement is just a certain number of units of coursework and passing the prelim exam.. so it feels more like an M.S. requirement; but of course it's also on the way to the PhD.)

ok I see. :) (glad to hear that you had not become one of those MS ghosts who sleep in the corners of various departments and slowly fall into oblivion!)
