Apparently it is time to dispose of certain delusions, and now revel in a simple truth: Most citizens of this country are morons.

yeah, but that's kind of along the lines of "cutting your nose to spite your face," or whatever the idiom is.

someone here came up with a silver lining that I think we should elevate to the level of motto: "Democrats. We still have the filibuster!"

Yeah, I thought of that last night. Maybe the democrats should just have an around-the-clock filibuster.

Last year, they actually sent out State Troopers to capture a group of Democrats who had gone into hiding to break quorum on a measure that would redistrict their state to produce two more Republican senators.

Not just the filibuster, but the ones we've got left aren't afraid to use it. We lost all the Breaux' and Graham's and Zell Miller's and such. And hopefully we'll get a good fighting minority leader. Maybe even Kerry...
