Want to see the film Going Upriver about John Kerry and the Vietnam Veterans Against The War? Of course you can see it in the cinema, but if you don't want to pay for a theater ticket, you can attend a screening party somewhere in your neighborhood, which you can find via the web site http://www.keepitgoing.org/ . You can also buy the DVD and host a screening. Seems like a fun thing to do...

Incidentally, I was really impressed by "Going Upriver" and the clips of Kerry's testimony in front of the Senate committee, as well as his organization of the veterans' protest group. Interesting to note, though--he seems to have lost the "Thurston Howell the 3rd" accent he had in the Senate hearing.

Good stuff--I've gotta find a place that's playing the whole film.

seriously? what happened? If he could speak like he did then, he'd be elected in a heartbeat.

well, maybe it's good that he doesn't. if he unleashed his antiwar fervor on the present electorate, it might turn some away. )-:

I don't know what happened, but I'll tell you, I've never heard Kerry speak as eloquently as he did in that hearing (the clips I saw, anyway.) *I* wanted to applaud at the end, and it was only a flickering TV at 1:AM. Accent aside (and I found the accent a bit distracting, maybe because I'm not used to hearing it) I really felt a bit of Kerry-love to a guy I've been more or less ambivalent towards since the primaries (yeah, I'm supporting him, but that's only because Dean and Sharpton would never in a million years get elected.)
