Senior Hall
From the Loafer's Guide: Senior (1906)-This building is now officially called Senior Hall, though it was originally Golden Bear Lodge, then Senior Men's Hall. It is a beautifully designed log cabin originally used for student activities, including Senior Singing, and now used for various events. I had been told that this building had a secret entrance, but only recently have I discovered what it is, and where it leads.
2243
A wooden building, apparently known only as "2243."
Haas School through the trees:
Wurster Hall:
Which of course reminds me of an old saying: "They say that Evans is the worst building on campus, but another is Wurster." I happen to like it. See that overhang? It's the wizard's keep.
I think the gizmo is my favorite. Or maybe the wooden building.
Re: yay!
I have a few ideas, though. I think it would be fun to go around and photograph "secret places." We could do it along various themes, as given in the Loafer's Guide.
For instance, I just printed out the Guide and went out and took pictures of the latin inscriptions on campus until the camera battery ran out. A nice sequence could be the "life and times of strawberry creek" (trace the creek's path on campus).. murals of berkeley.. big buildings.. lesser known buildings.. distinctive trees. physical plant (steam tunnel, cogen plant, etc).
I have some ideas for putting all this together, which I'll write about later.
