ICFP Contest

I want to form a team to participate in the ICFP Contest 2004, which will be June 4-7. It's a programming contest that generally involves a nontrivial optimization problem, one year it was a raytracer.. anyway, all manner of cleverness, and good coding in any language are helpful. anyone interested? (btw, I will be at UCSD at that time.)

I'm interested, and can block out the time, but I'm not very organized, and I'm not going to trek down to SD. :/

Maybe a Berkeley-area team could be organised?

Possibly, but I don't actually know coders, as a rule. Or as a happenstance, perhaps. And organization is something I really can't do right now.

La. :)

I would totally do that, except I'll be in Connecticut then =/

Do we have to be physically present? What languages were you thinking of using?

I think physical presense would be key.. but it would also be neat to get other people participating elsewhere.

Languages.. I confess I write nearly everything in C, since I'm most comfortable with that. But it's probably a non-optimal language for the ICFP contest. Nonetheless I'd love to win with a purely imperative language. (-:

I'd be interested ...

I would probably be in southern california around that time, too.
