this is my plan

Today is Day 73 of what I like to call Expedition Two, counting somewhat arbitrarily from the day of Engineering Commencement (rather than my departure from the U.S. as before), since that's about when the random fun began for real. Expedition One was eleven months in Sweden, three in Israel, and random side trips to ten other countries. It's funny when the time wraps around after a full year. That's not going to happen this time.

On Day 98, Expedition Two will commence its second phase: travel. It's around the corner now and I'm excited by it.. It's time to start preparing.. getting visas, reading other people's travelogues, arranging connections. This time I'm going to Poland! Then up through the three Baltic republics to our dear old Estonia, where I'll again catch the ferry to Stockholm. From Stockholm I'll fly SAS youthfare up to Kiruna, visit Nils in Luleå and together the two of us will ascend Kebnekaise, Sweden's tallest mountain. Then down to Lund again on SAS via Goteborg; I shall again dance in the discotheques of the Nations, eat yummy falafel, buy CD's of Kent and the Cardigans, and so on. Visit Copenhagen and the Danes, then fly back to Geneve.

This Baltic plan is at the cost of my Balkan plans (Croatia, Yugoslavia, etc). I will have to leave the azure seas and tropical fishes to another time, in favor of the arctic tundra one more time...

Exciting plans! Is Camp Cern over now? That would be sad. But scandinavian travel would be fun. As would Balkan travel, especially if it involved the Dalmatian coast.

Hey, have fun! Are you going to see the Curonian Spit in Lithuania? It's the one thing I regret missing. My teacher claims that Klaipeda is not as far from Riga as silly things like the map would have one believe.

I'm going to try to get to the spit... do you have any contacts in the area that would like to take care of a wandering american?

Falafelkungen isn't around anymore :(
How are you planning on getting into the nations without a Swedish student ID? If you know any good tricks, tell me!

BTW, Kent are SOOOO boring...

Vem är falafelkungen? Inte på Salluhallen.. ?
