continuing adventures

After working at school until 11pm, you need to have some adventures.

* riding through the night in the back seat of a convertible with a pint glass of stout and a yellow bandana

* buying pints of CB's El Destructo (delicious with lime) at the Mex for A and B

* riding with rob, and the new mix cd

* a new record for number of co-opers in the hammock at the Lux (four)

* Doug receiving public humiliation from Lux bartender after attempt to charge a $1.50 tab (for one PBR) to a card

* falling out of the hammock, onto a rock

* streaking south plymouth avenue (doug)

* conspiring to jump into the river, but not actually doing so (thank goodness)

* being asked directly whether i am bisexual (no)

* yummy thai food with(out) the physics kids on a drizzely day

today's heroes of the revolution are:

* [livejournal.com profile] hypostatization, just because.

* Rudy, who just appeared at my (adopted) office door and gave me a pizza

* whomever (Ross?) found the snazzy mailbox thing for the co-op

a literary interlude:

I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I feel my fate in what I cannot fear.
I learn by going where I have to go.

We think by feeling. What is there to know?
I hear my being dance from ear to ear.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.

[those two stanzas of T. Roethke's The Waking were written in a wandering ribbon across the ceiling of my room (Xanadu 2!) at the Oscar Wilde House (or, appropriately, in poem form).]
