What does it mean when "ff" or "pp" or somesuch letters are listed after a page number in an index to a book?

At first I thought this was a prank.

I received a big red envelope in the mail, with "DEN ALLMÄNNA PENSIONEN" in big black letters: my statement of accounts with the Swedish welfare state.

I owe nothing. They owe me nothing. Zero crowns in every field.

And yet I'm amused to receive the package, that I'm still on record and in good standing in their State.

I take their periodic correspondence as invitation to return.
